Does anyone know of a way to find out the total iops of a host or a host group on a VSP or USP-V in tuning manager. I can see the iops per device obviously, or even for the frame, but not at the host level.
What I ended up doing was using the Tuning Manager CLI to gather the data I needed.
I ran it in the format:
htm-hostgroups SS_349550 -u <username> -w <password> -hg <hostgroup> -dt -dd C:\Temp\perf -fp outputfile -d 9/11/2014 -o HOURLY
This outputs 2 text files, one of the host group and 1 with the devices. This worked for me.
I ended up writing a script to gather and sum it all up for multiple hosts.
You can get IOPS for a host group by drill into array > Ports > Host Groups tab > click desired host group > LDEVs tab > check all devices > click Historical Report at the bottom.
Thanks for your response. I'm still looking for way to find the total iops easily. I can't find anywhere in the GUI that gives me a total. I can export to a csv file and sum them up that way, but it's very time intensive.
How about creating a custom report in Performance Reporter (under Tuning Manager > Go)? It requires some effort up front to create the new report but makes it easy down the line to use it over and over again. You can even add a stacked line graph in the report which would make it extremely easy to see the total IOPS.
Would you be willing to share the script with the community and or other cmds for TM via CLI
