HTI - caw vs cow

In the ThinImage User Guide, it says there are two different snapshot data storage methods, Copy-On-Write(COW) and Copy-After-Write(CAW). But how do specify which method to use?

I use CCI and plan to schedule snapshots using either raidcom or horcm conf files, but can't find how to setup HTI with horcm conf files anywhere. Can someone briefly tell me how to do this or maybe point in the direction of some guide.
