I have some doubts in HNAS Cluster setup..
we are going to reboot the HNAS nodes (both nodes) what are the steps we have to tc..
what are file need to take back up?
We have relplication servers (RM servers).
It is good practice to back up the HNAS and SMU
Use the GUI to back up the server
Home > Server Settings > Configuration Back & Restore
Backup the external SMU
Home > SMU Administration > SMU Backup and Restore
Reboot the nodes one by one. Before you reboot migrate the EVS running in one node to another and viceversa. During the reboot process the performance may be degraded (since all the load or I/O will be handled by a single node).
Thanks for your suggestion, and is it required to take any config files backup?
If yes can you please let me know the what files we need to take backup and how?
Im new to HNAS so have lot of doubts.....
Thanks in Advance
BTW, why do you need to reboot?
No need to backup any config file. Make sure the there same link aggregation exist at the other node, then perform EVS migration.
I'm curious as to where these backups go. I have a one node DR hnas that recently was recovered from a backup but it was a mystery to me and the HDS engineer on site as to where the backup came from. It looks like both the SMU and the node do automatic configuration backups. Should I be doing something to copy those to another location.
