what happens if a snappool fills

Question asked by Bruce Kirkland on Jan 28, 2014

I'm about to use a CAW snapshot as a backup for a large database. I know the steps, pair up the snapshot, get the database in backup mode, do a split and so forth.

As far as I can tell if  by some strage stroke of fate the pool I'm using were to fill up the only fallout would be that my snapshot is no good. I'd need to clean house or add space to get the pool back in business and pair up the snapshot again  but there would  be no impact on the database.

Am I correct in this?
