HDLM vs Native MPIO

I am looking for comparisons between the benefits and disadvantages of running HDLM compared to the native MPIO on Windows, AIX, Linux & VMWare.

For VMWare I have read that the default VM round robin policy should be used with native mpio.

HDLM on Win 2008/2012 use the Microsoft multipath driver but adds more load balancing options.

I have summarized the below as advantages:

  • Detects sequential workloads
  • Optimize port buffering
  • Perform non-disruptive migrations
  • Manage all paths centrally with HGLM

How does the native Windows, AIX and DMP on Linux compare?

Any feedback will be great.
