I'd also like to know this. I was at the VSP information forum in Toronto and they were touting zero page and I was thinking. Yes, it would be a great feature, if it was automated or at the minimum at a host or pool level. It is definitely a pain point. We don't need more things to occupy our time.

I believe the latest version of CCI supports starting the process on each PD-VOL individually (VSP only), check out the latest version of the CCI user and reference guide. You could easily script the process to run for all LDEVs on a schedule.
Now if they could just fix the reporting around block reclaim
Thanks cris. Still running a few USP-VMs and some AMS hardware here. So it may be a while before I can do this via scripts.
If you have HiCommandCLI installed you can easily script this -> . HiCommandCLI RunZeroPageReclaim devnums=
I'm working on a list of devices right now that I know can benefit from it. You can tell its done by the result of HiCommandCLI GetZeroPageReclaimStatus (look for "'An instance of LogicalUnit" - if it shows up its not done)
I have a shell script running from a crontab on Linux server that keeps a number of zpr's running. I just echo the devices to a "todo" directory, where the script starts the zpr then moves the ldev name from todo to "running". When the zpr finishes the script moves the ldev name from "running" to "done" and starts up another zpr'
Next step is to see if I can put some intelligence in to finding the ldevs to feed first and keep some stats on the amount of space recovered.
Hi, would you be mind to share me that script?
Just one query if we want to run zpr on all LUNs in a particular VSP box, then what parameter we need to pass in the below command,
--> HiCommandCLI RunZeroPageReclaim XXXX
What we can understand is we need to create a batch file in HiCommandCLI and run the above command in a schedule. So we are not sure what parameters need to be passed to run zpr on all LUNs in a particular VSP box having a total of 6000+ LUNs.
Could you please tell me how much time it will take to run ZPR for volumes provisioned form sas7.2k disks. For example 4Tb volume each from sas7.2k.
is this will take long time to complete?
We have externaled the HUS 150's volumes into an HUS-VM storage array. When I run a reclaime zero page on those volumes, 0 octet gained. Can we run this tool on externaled volume?
