Hi-Track won't start on Windows server

I downloaded and installed Hi-Track Monitor on a windows 2008 r2 server, the Hi-Track service will now start.

If I look in the event log, the error is.

"The Hi-Track Monitor service failed to start due to the following error:

The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion."

If I open windows explorer, and navigate to the C:\Program Files\hds\HitDFmon directory, and double click on the

HitDFmon.exe, it will start and I can access it in a browser on port 6696.  It "hangs" the command prompt window, if I hit control-c, it stops running.  My assumption is, when it tries to start as a service, the same thing happens, and does

not report back to windows that it started, windows "ctrl-c's" it and moves on.

Has anyone seen this, and know a way around it?

We had an older Hi-Track version running on a server that is dead (same windows version), I tried to get an older version, but all links bring me to version 8.  Any ideas are appreciated.
