How Many SAP HANA Nodes Can We Pack Into a Storage Array?

It's not a world record attempt, rather a test of efficiency. The consolidated approach for the scale-up appliances reduces hardware and operational costs, optimizes time-to-value for existing hardware and shortens implementation cycles. A maximum of eight scale-up systems with different memory sizes and operating systems can be configured with Hitachi Virtual Storage Platform G600 and a maximum of six scale-up systems can be configured on Hitachi Virtual Storage Platform G400. We also offer the Hitachi Storage Adapter for SAP Landscape Virtualization Management. This adapter implements the interface for managing Hitachi storage systems and allows you to easily integrate these into SAP LVM. You dynamically provision and de-provision LUNs on the Hitachi storage arrays as well as attach and detach LUNs to and from resources that have been configured for access over the Fiber Channel protocol.
